<p> A recent study o f 150 Iranian men indicates that a lower ratio of <a href="http://www.omega-3.us">omega 3</a> to omega 6 fatty acids tends to equate to higher quality semen, and therefore better fertility rates1. While of course the study is still in the preliminary stages, the initial results suggest that this ratio has a major impact on sperm count.</p>
<p> In most modern diets, omega 6 levels are much higher than omega 3s. This is because omega 6 fatty acids are far more prevalent in popular foods and food components like vegetable oils, nuts, and seeds. Omega 3s, on the other hand, are found almost exclusively in fatty fish like salmon, and you have to eat literally pounds a day to take in the optimum amount of these fatty acids.</p>

<p> Studies were published in 1993 by the Journal of the National Cancer Institute linking the prevention of breast cancer with omega 3 fatty acids. While the results are still not conclusive, many additional studies since then also have indicated that there may be a connection. Omega 3 fatty acids are found in fish oil and flax oil. They are instrumental in heart health and are anti-inflammatory compounds. This anti-inflammatory nature may be where they could help prevent breast cancer.</p>
<p> Fish and flax seed are where omega 3s usually come from. Most people don&#8217;t eat enough of these foods, so they have a moderate omega 3 deficiency. Which can be harmful to your health.
